To calm sensitized skin, start by eating a more balanced diet. Include foods that are rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are essential for healthy skin. You should also make sure you drink enough water. When the body lacks water, it calls on its reserves to feed vital organs \u2013 and much of the body’s water is stored in the skin. This explains why the first symptoms of dehydration are usually felt in the skin, such as itching, redness, and flushing.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n

Aim to have an optimal room temperature at home, as this will help to maintain and protect your skin’s hydrolipidic film (and probably save you money on your electricity bills too!). Don’t stay in the shower for too long, and use warm rather than hot water, as the latter can weaken the hydrolipidic film. For those of you who like to smoke, bear in mind that smoking dulls the complexion, as it reduces the supply of oxygen to cells.
