Sweet & Safe : clean, eco-friendly makeup

Since 2014, we’ve had the honor and pleasure of working with celebrity makeup artist, Christophe Danchaud. Together with him, we’ve developed our Sweet & Safe makeup collection, which combines organic, skin-caring formulas with professional results. La Poudre is the latest addition to this collection and joins our other natural and organic makeup products, so you have everything you need for your face makeup routine.

Applying face powder – or La Poudre! – is an essential step in your makeup routine. Whether you apply it after our Le Multicorrecteur concealer and/or La Crème du Teint foundation, La Poudre will mattify, illuminate and even out your complexion. It’s also perfect for setting your makeup, to help it last all day. So, if you’re constantly on the go and don’t have time to touch up your makeup during your lunch break, it could be just what you need!

La Poudre has a fine, light texture that can be used on all skin types. And it comes in two shades, so there’s a solution for all skin tones. If you have fair skin, opt for the 10.1 (translucent) shade. The slightly pigmented 10.2 shade, meanwhile, is perfect for darker skin tones, and won’t dull the complexion.

La Poudre also helps to absorb excess sebum, thereby reducing shine. It works to smooth the skin without clogging pores and minimizes their appearance.

Many people with dry skin are reluctant to use a loose face powder. Depending on its composition, it may make the skin more sensitive or accentuate the appearance of small creases, wrinkles and fine lines. La Poudre is formulated with Hyaluronic Acid – an active ingredient renowned for its ability to retain water in tissues. It also contains Silica – a mineral ingredient that glides over the skin but doesn’t create that “talc effect.” Corn Starch helps to control sebum and gives a soft feel to the skin. And finally, there’s Honokiol – a natural polyphenol extracted from the Magnolia plant that’s been used for hundreds of years in Eastern medicine for its antioxidant properties.

Thanks to its flawless formula, La Poudre mattifies all skin types and leaves even the most sensitive skin feeling comfortable.

Application

Take a small amount of powder using the powder puff, then lightly pat over the T-zone (don’t smooth it on to avoid “talc effect”). A single application is all you need for a sheer, natural finish.

La Poudre 10.1 (translucent) can be applied in a fine layer below the eyes to set the Le Multicorrecteur concealer. You can also use a thick layer to catch eyeshadow fallout. Then simply dust off the excess powder and eyeshadow with a brush. Apply a little on your eyelids to avoid eyeshadow creasing and to help your eyeshadow stay put for longer.

Tips from Christophe Danchaud

Sweet & Safe

The Sweet & Safe collection also includes all your makeup bag essentials: La Crème du Teint (light foundation), Le Multicorrecteur (concealer, 6 shades), Le Mascara (black), Le Liner (black), as well as our Le Rouge and Le Sorbet lipsticks, available in 9 shades.

For a festive makeup look, begin by applying your day cream mixed with Le Booster ÉCLAT – an excellent makeup base. Your skin should always be perfectly moisturized before applying makeup.

Face:
For medium coverage, apply La Crème du Teint (available in two shades: Light and Medium). You can either pat it on lightly, all over the face, using a makeup sponge like the Beautyblender®, or you can mix it directly with your face cream.

If you have bluish dark circles, begin by applying Le Multicorrecteur in shade 10 to neutralize them. Then apply Le Multicorrecteur in the shade that suits your skin tone to conceal imperfections and brighten the eye area.

Follow with La Poudre for a smooth and flawless complexion.

Eyes:
Now that your face makeup is done, it’s time for the eyes. To achieve the perfect winged eyeliner, begin by drawing an upward line starting from the outside corner of your eye and following the natural shape of the eye. Then draw a line from your teardrop towards the first line you created. Finally, fill in the wing.

If you have slightly drooping eyelids, opt for eyeshadow in light or nude shades to avoid making your eyes look more closed.

Finally, apply Le Mascara from the roots to the tips of eyelashes, using gentle zigzag movements to separate the lashes.

Lips:
Begin by applying Le Baume, which nourishes and repairs the lips, making it ideal in winter – when your lips tend to suffer more. Then apply your favorite lipstick, either by lightly patting it on so your lips look naturally colored, or by applying it straight from the tube for a bolder look.

Our lipsticks are made with natural ingredients, so feel free to use them in different ways and not just on your lips! For example, you could use yours as blush and dab it on your cheekbones for a healthy glow effect, and/or on your eyelids to warm up your complexion.

Once you’ve finished doing your makeup, you can apply three sprays of La Brume Systémique (without shaking it), for an ultra-radiant complexion.

Christophe Danchaud

After years of working as a dancer for major dance companies, Christophe discovered a new way of expressing his creativity through makeup. He found that he could use makeup to tell a story, reveal emotions, transform a face and enhance women’s natural beauty. He began by doing makeup for advertisements, films and fashion shows (Dior, Lanvin, etc.). Things moved quickly, and within very little time he had become the favorite makeup artist of many of France’s much-loved actresses: Marion Cotillard, Vanessa Paradis, Chiara Mastroianni, Camille Cottin, Catherine Deneuve – to name just a few. He also worked with some of the greatest photographers, such as Karl Lagerfeld, Jean-Baptiste Mondino and Peter Lindbergh.
