Absolution make-up: enhance your beauty naturally.

A survey carried out in 2021 revealed the existence of chemicals of concern in many cosmetics. Out of the BB (beauty balm) creams, concealers and mascaras tested, 80% contained ingredients of concern1. These ingredients included plastics, carcinogens and other endocrine disruptors. Used daily by many women, these make-up products carry a certain health risk. With Absolution’s organic make-up, you can finally embrace natural, ethical beauty that cares for your skin. Between beauty and well-being, all our products are made from natural and certified organic ingredients. Our aim? To help you enhance your beauty while protecting your health and the environment. Why choose Absolution organic make-up?

It’s common to use several make-up products daily. Mascara, foundation, matte powders, lipstick, pencils… The list of ingredients in the chemical formulas quickly becomes long and often difficult to understand. As well as being harmful on their own, the ingredients can create an extremely problematic cocktail when combined.

Avoid applying harmful products to your skin

Perhaps you’ve already tried to decipher the list of ingredients in your foundation cream. You’ll usually find one mysterious name after another. The reality is that most of the substances in conventional make-up products give cause for concern. Below are some examples of harmful products you won´t find in our organic make-up range:
• Synthetic perfumes. Developed using chemical formulas, these fragrances often contain phthalates – endocrine disruptors that are well-known in the cosmetics world.
• Heavy metals such as lead. That’s right! This metal can be found in most lipsticks. The lips and the digestive tract are extremely close and the lead can be ingested in small quantities over the course of the day.
• Silicones. Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane… You might have seen these strange names on one of your products. They exist in many cosmetics and create an obstructive film on the skin, preventing the elimination of toxins. Used for their smooth texture, many consumers are unaware of just how harmful these products are to the environment.
• Parabens. Parabens are substances used to preserve cosmetics, foodstuffs and medicines. Endocrine disruptors are strongly suspected of causing cancer.
• Mineral oils. A product of the distillation of fossil fuels such as petroleum, these oils are often used in conventional make-up products. They tend to suffocate the skin due to their obstructive properties. As a result, other skin care products cannot penetrate the epidermis and the skin can develop imperfections. Lastly, they are virtually non-biodegradable. To protect the planet and your skin it’s better to use vegetable oils.
Good to know: what is an endocrine disruptor?
In 2002 the WHO defined an endocrine disruptor as “an exogenous substance or mixture that alters the function(s) of the endocrine system and, as a consequence, causes a deleterious effect on the health of an individual, their descendants or subpopulations”2. In other words, endocrine disruptors include a wide range of substances capable of disrupting the hormonal system. They can influence our metabolism, our reproductive capacity and our nervous system.

Take advantage of the benefits of the natural ingredients in organic make-up

Choosing organic and natural make-up means protecting yourself from ingredients that can harm your health and the environment while taking advantage of the benefits of nature. We’ve developed a formula for all our make-up products that is pure and healthy for your skin, without compromising on quality. Our products are created without parabens, PEGs, phthalates, mineral oils, GMOs or artificial perfumes.
Our cosmetics are enriched with organic or wild plant extracts, minerals and vitamins. The idea is simple: to focus on certain natural active ingredients while maintaining the sophistication of the textures and colours. Among the natural ingredients we choose, you’ll find:

• Vegetable oils. Nourish and repair the skin thanks to their rich moisturising properties. Jojoba, rosehip, safflower, argan, nigella, coconut… the list is endless. For example, La Crème du Teint is formulated with jojoba, rosehip, sesame and tamanu oils.
• Waxes. Provide a soft, protective texture. Which allows the easy application of make-up products such as mascara. Le Mascara Intense contains carnauba wax, a vegetable wax from Brazil.

Did you know? Most of our products are vegan.
A large number of Absolution’s skincare and make-up products are vegan. Only certain ingredients, such as beeswax, propolis and royal jelly are of animal origin. However, we refuse to use carmine (prepared with cochineal beetles) and favour other natural or synthetic pigments. Discover all our vegan products.

• Hydrosols. Tone and refresh the skin. You’ll experience an immediate feeling of well-being. Helichrysum hydrolat improves skin healing and reduces imperfections. It is ideal for use in tinted make-up.
• Essential oils. Powerful plant concentrates, obtained by steam distillation or cold extraction. These oils are called “essential” because they capture the essence of the plant from which they are derived. Their properties can be very powerful.

Our skincare products are certified by the quality labels Ecocert Greenlife or Cosmos. Above all, we want to offer you total transparency about the composition of your make-up.

How do I apply organic make-up?

To get the best results from your organic make-up it’s essential to prepare your skin. Begin by cleansing your face with Visage Le Nettoyant Pureté for fresh skin before applying any products. Next, moisturise: use a moisturising cream suitable for your skin type or needs, such as La Crème du Temps or La Crème Beau Jour.
Apply foundation using clean hands or a “beauty blender” sponge. Warm a small amount of the product between clean hands before smoothing it from the centre of the face outwards. Make sure you spread the product evenly. For very dry skin, mix your foundation with your day cream to make application easier.

Enhance your eyes with vegan and eco-friendly make-up products

The eyes are particularly sensitive and need special care, which is why it’s so important to choose certified organic make-up for this area of the face. Doing this protects you against irritation, dryness and minor infections often caused by conventional make-up. By choosing products enriched with natural ingredients you can enjoy the aesthetic benefits of make-up while caring for the delicate eye area.

What is the leading plant extract when it comes to eye care? Cornflower hydrolate! You’ll find this in Le Multicorrecteur, for example, and also in our best-selling Le Liner Christophe Danchaud and Le Mascara Intense. More than just a simple mascara, this is a skincare product too. Abyssinian oil, sunflower oil, castor oil and carnauba and candelilla waxes combine to coat, strengthen and nourish your lashes.

At Absolution, we want to limit our impact on the planet as much as possible. Which is why Mascara Intense is a refillable solution. Once the product is finished the plastic refill can be recycled. Simply insert a new one into the aluminium case and that’s it!
