Detox Juices: A Gentle And Colorful Way To Welcome Fall
Seasonal changes are ideal for a cleanse
Vacations have been over for more than a month, yet a wave of fatigue can already be felt. Rainy and cold weather, an intense rythm of work… During these times of transition, I feel like I need a little helping hand from Nature. To help my skin and body transition smoothly from summer to fall, I find holistic care is what works best for me: what I use on my skin is as important as what I feed my body.
For the juices, flavors and colors also have a great impact on my well-being. Drinking the same juice every day during a cleanse is far too monotonous. I recommend having fun mixing the fresh fruits and vegetables you like and changing the recipes depending on your mood and energy.
The golden rule: get the freshest fruits and vegetables possible. Vitamin loss is staggering—over 50% after just two days of storage. Whenever possible, I source from my garden, and I complete with produce from my organic farmer. And most importantly, everything goes in: skin, stems, and all!
My orange mood juice is packed with beta-carotene, which gives me a healthy glow and a midday energy boost: it contains carrot, ginger, apple, and lemon.
My green mood juice, made with apple, parsley, grape, cucumber, and lemon, gives me a deep cleansing feeling. This is the juice I drink in the morning on an empty stomach, after a glass of warm water.
My pink mood juice is made with beetroot, red cabbage, apple, and raspberries, and is extremely rich in anthocyanins—powerful antioxidants that protect us from oxidative stress. I alternate this with my orange mood juice.
I also start a spirulina regimen during this time: ampoules are my favorite way to include this powerful algae. It has a surprising blue color, and is known to boost energy, reduce fatigue, and strengthen the body’s natural defenses.
I apply the same care to my skin with Absolution masks. I always choose them depending on what my skin needs and where I am in my cycle.
I pay close attention to the subtle changes in my skin and alternate between the purifying mask when I need a reset, the hydrating mask when my skin feels tight or I’m dehydrated, the plumping mask when I’ve had a short night and even the super nourishing mask during major temperature shifts.
This colorful, vitamin-rich, and energy-boosting regimen gracefully guides me through this transitional period and I recommend you try it this year!
